Room Upgrade Reports
It was late, 11:30pm and the lobby was quiet. The guy seemed stern at first although when he saw the $20 dollar trick and I asked for any comp upgrades, he said sure let me see what I have. I asked for a high floor strip view and that’s what I got, 19th floor strip view! I made small talk with a few jokes that got him laughing, he actually thanked me, ahhahah, I told him have a great nite. It was perfect and well worth it after seeing the garden rooms area I had booked, ewwww.
Was told that my booked room a King bed wasn’t available and they gave me a room with 2 queens, but would get the King the next day if I wanted. I slipped my $20 asking for an upgrade, and was told that I was already staying in the Tower rooms. I thought maybe I could at least get the Strip view or a suite. I got the North View of Downtown.
Checked in with older female and presented the $20 sandwich. I asked if she had any complimentary upgrades and she proceeded to hand me my $20 back as if I didn’t know it was stuck between the two. The courtyard really wasn’t that bad, in fact when we return we plan on staying there again. Comps were relatively easy to get and for $12/nt through hotwire it was a great deal.

I wanted a jaccuzi suite but was told they were all takin out so non available.
I could have had a corner mini suite but it only had one bed so I took the high up room with view.
I handed my licence and credit card with a $20 bill below the cards and I asked for a upgrade,he saw the money and gave me the upgrade and I dropped the money after I was satisfied.

Nice Guy!!
reserved a comp courtyard room. $20 tip got us a high floor tower room with strip view. well worth the investment.
Stayed here last year for 10 days and was comped to the tower automatically. Never even asked for the upgrade cause I didnt think there was many suites at the PS. This year I got a very young, inexperienced clerk who after slipping him the $20 sandwich, casually asked for a complimentary upgrade. Was told with their new computer upgrade of late that “We cant do anything like that anymore” I asked him if there were, In fact any suites at the PS and he told me yes but they were in the tower and again he could not do anything. He DID look to see if the price I got 3 months earlier were comparable to the prices now in the tower so I could change rooms but found nothing worth changing for. To my suprise, the rooms in the Courtyard HAD been recently renovated as my bathroom was recently redone and was very nice. I think maybe this old place just doesnt have that much to offer for the $20 sandwich. But I also could have picked a better clerk.

My gf got a free 4 night stay at palace station for attending some timeshare thing. It wasn’t really free cause we had to pay 85 dollars in taxes and another 20 dollars in “room fees” (5 dollars a night). The hotel was ok… couldn’t really complain. Arrived at the hotel after a 5 hour drive, was dead tired, went up to a guy with the 20 bucks between card and license. He saw the money, typed a bit, and said that they were booked through the weekend. He gave me the 20 bucks back and I said thanks. Ended up losing 200 bucks the following few days =/
